The most well-known use of Grès de Thiviers in the ceramic sector is that linked to its capacity to give a red coloration to wet-milled bodies for porcelain gres; this warm red colour is made possible thanks to the colorimetric stability of the product in the porcelain gres cycle, a stability that is a direct consequence of its particular mineralogical and structural characteristics.
